Veronica Reynolds to talk about travel at Oxfordshire Property Festival

Published on: 08/09/2020

UK Property Forums is hosting its virtual Oxfordshire Property Festival on 15-16 September 2020 to celebrate The Oxford to Cambridge Arc and Thames Valley commercial property markets.

Milton Park's sustainable travel advisor, Veronica Reynolds, will be speaking at one of the six sessions along with 30 plus speakers and contributors including Dr David Prout, pro-vice chancellor, University of Oxford; Alistair Lomax, director, Arc Universities, Elliot Page and Ahmed Goga, director of Strategy at OxLEP.

Veronica's seminar will look at how the fundamentals of transport are changing, what methods of transport will we use in this brave new era? As the role of the workplace is under the spotlight, is it also time to reconsider how the role of towns and cities is changing and what their relationship with transport systems should be?

She will be joined by Elliot Page, director of transport, Stantec and David Allatt, transport assessment manager, Cambridgeshire County Council.

Veronica said: "Transport does not just serve society, it shapes it and supports it too. Too often we forget that many people don't have access to a car or choose not to drive. At Milton Park, we know from our annual travel surveys that 40% of our occupiers do not use a car to get to work. Many of these are key workers; the people we have hailed as heroes of the pandemic. How can we rethink transport to make it work better for them and for everyone, to give people the confidence to return to work? I look forward to discussing this further with the panel and having a timely debate around such an important subject."

More than 400 attendees will be attending this event hosted by Matthew Battle, managing director, UK Property Forums.
