Apprentice News desk Assistant
Company: Alamy HQ
Type of contract: Fixed term 12-18 month apprenticeship
Hours: 40 hours per week (including the time you're at College)
Alternation weeks of day shifts (8am to 4.45pm) and night shifts (1.15pm to 10pm) Monday - Friday
1 weekend shift every 4 weeks (8am-2:30pm or 2:30pm-9pm Saturdays and Sundays)
Package: £298 per week plus great benefits

This role is based in our live News team, which is a fast paced, growing provider of Live News images to the International media. Our images are supplied by photographers & agencies from around the world and our clients are the well-established newspapers & corporations. How exciting would it be to see the images you’ve submitted used as part of a big news story!

Source images from photographers and agencies
Correctly caption images and then send them to our newspaper clients
Brief photographers for events
Run a news diary
You’ll complete a course which will lead to an apprenticeship in Business Administration Level 2.
We’re looking for someone who:
Enjoys being busy and isn’t scared to ask questions
Thrives on learning new things
Has a positive ‘can do’ attitude, especially when faced with a challenge
Is happy working without constant supervision
Has a love of news stories and photo journalism
Has excellent written English language skills
Has a great telephone manner and the ability to communicate effectively
