Focusing on the most pressing topics for HR professionals.

This event will focus on one of the most pressing topics for HR professionals today: UK Immigration.

As the landscape of immigration law and policy continues to evolve, it’s essential for HR leaders to stay informed about the latest developments and understand their impact on talent acquisition, employee retention and workforce management.

Speakers

Nynke Toussaint, People Advisor at Tokamak Energy

Tokamak Energy is proud to have a vibrant team representing over 35 nationalities. Nynke supports visa application processeses alongside their Immigration Advisors and helps bring extraordinary global talent together with world-leading scientific, engineering and commercial expertise. She is excited to co-host our upcoming HR Forum and looks forward to meeting fellow people professionals to share ideas, experiences and a good cup of coffee!

Ashley Stothard, Immigration Law Executive at Freeths

Ashley Stothard is an Immigration Executive at Freeths and has specialised in immigration law for the last 10 years. She works closely with UK employers to support international recruitment, sponsor licence applications and immigration compliance. Ashley helps businesses navigate the complexities of hiring global talent and regularly delivers training on right-to-work checks and sponsor duties. She has supported a wide range of organisations – from universities and local authorities to fast-growing SMEs and household-name companies – and is passionate about helping employers build inclusive, globally connected teams. At the upcoming HR Forum, Ashley will be discussing recent changes to immigration law, expected developments and the rumours and realities in how these changes are shaping employer strategy.

Nicola Wallbank, Employment Law Partner

Nicola has practised employment law for nearly 20 years, advising employers and employees on all aspects of the working relationship. She works with HR teams, in house lawyers, senior management and business owners across a range of sectors (including IT, life sciences, manufacturing and professional services) and partners with her clients to manage and resolve complex people issues. She has extensive experience in supporting overseas businesses with their UK operations and people matters. She advises on business reorganisations, the provision of contracts and associated documentation, complex grievance and disciplinary issues, and managing litigation. She has notable expertise on both sides of the table in drafting and negotiating exits and settlement agreements for senior executives, including where there are complex or high value bonus or share option issues and advising on post-termination restrictive covenants. As Freeths’ employment law expert, Nicola will be fielding questions on the latest legal developments including key updates from the Employment Rights Bill.

Light refreshments included.
