Milton Park introduces updates to bike hire and EV charging
Milton Park is introducing a series of updates to its sustainable transport services, making it easier for occupiers and visitors to travel around the Park while ensuring fair access for everyone.
Bike & eBike Hire – changes from 1 May 2026
The Milton Park Bike and eBike Hire scheme continues to grow in popularity, with more people choosing to cycle around the Park and travel to and from the station – especially as the warmer months approach.
To help ensure bikes remain available for all users, a small change to the charging structure will come into effect from 1 May 2026:
- First 24 hours: Free for occupiers when registered with a work email – (currently 48 hours)
- Next 24 hours: £5
- Each additional day: £15 per day
To avoid any charges, users simply need to return the bike to a hub and end their rental within 24 hours.
These updates are designed to support continued access to the scheme while encouraging regular bike availability across Milton Park.
New rapid EV charging at Milton Park
Milton Park has also expanded its electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure with the installation of new Chargepoint rapid chargers at Signal Yard – providing a convenient option for EV drivers across the Park.
To ensure chargers are available when needed, an overstay policy is now in place for rapid chargers, including:
- The new 50kW DC chargers at Signal Yard
- The rapid charger at Bee House
What you need to know:
- Maximum charging time: 60 minutes
- Drivers are asked to finish charging and move their vehicle within the hour
- Overstay charge: 75p per minute after 60 minutes (capped at £35)
These overstay charges currently apply only to publicly accessible rapid chargers at Milton Park.
Please note: Chargepoint will place a £50 hold on your payment method when you start a charging session. Once charging ends, the cost of energy used (plus any applicable overstay charges) will be deducted, and the remaining balance will be released back to your account.
These updates reflect Milton Park’s ongoing commitment to sustainable travel, helping more people choose greener ways to move around while keeping services accessible and efficient for all.
