What if a wound that once may not have healed for months or years can now be closed faster than with standard care?
What if a wound that once may not have healed for months or years can now be closed faster than with standard care?
At Milton Park, Convatec, a leading global medical products and technologies company, has developed a new generation of advanced wound care dressing designed to do exactly that.
For patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hard-to-heal wounds can lead to serious complications, including infection and worse. Convatec’s ConvaNiox™ technology is changing that.
In 2023, Convatec acquired a novel nitric oxide generating dressing technology from 30 Technology, and launched this as ConvaNioxâ„¢ in Europe in 2025. This new dressing is powered by a potent antimicrobial and antibiofilm agent, nitric oxide, and is supported by strong clinical evidence (Edmonds 2018).
From its R&D lab on the Park, the team has developed a solution with real-world impact (Edmonds 2018). Following UK and EU regulatory approval in 2025, ConvaNioxâ„¢ is available for the management of diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) in the UK and a number of EU countries as part of an initial market launch.
ConvaNioxâ„¢ offers patients and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) renewed confidence by providing an advanced dressing able to manage the conditions of a hard-to-heal diabetic foot ulcer.
Backed by a global medical products and technologies company but operating with the agility of a focused R&D team, the scientists in Milton Park are translating complex chemistry into innovation with the potential to make a meaningful difference to patients’ lives.
