Cell Signalling Technology Seminar: Trusting Your Antibody

Published on: 21/03/2019

When: 2nd April, 2-3pm

Where: Milton Park Innovation Centre

Who: Richard Cho, PhD- Senior Development Scientist

Essential Tools for Understanding Neurodegeneration & Neuroinflammation

Richard is a Senior Development Scientist at Cell Signaling Technology (CST). As a trained neuroscientist, he has a long-standing interest in understanding molecular mechanisms of synaptic formation, function, and maintenance. At CST, he is leveraging his scientific background to manage CST’s Neuroscience portfolio. His goal is to develop highly validated antibody-based tools that enable research and discovery, particularly in the neurodegeneration & neuroinflammation research areas.

In his seminar, Richard will describe the current state of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and the research challenges and opportunities that exist in the field. He will focus particularly in the emerging area of neuroinflammation and describe how antibodies can be used to investigate the contribution of microglia in AD progression, a process that may be relevant in other neurodegenerative diseases, like Parkinson’s Disease and ALS. Throughout his talk, he will describe the core values that drive CST’s commitment to produce highly-validated research products that accelerate biological understanding of neurodegenerative diseases.
