Webinar: Cutting through the noise - business preparedness against coronavirus

Published on: 18/03/2020

Ricardo, the global strategic engineering and environmental consultancy that specialises in the transport, energy and scarce resources sectors, is hosting a webinar "Cutting through the noise - business preparedness against Coronavirus" at 2pm on Thursday 19th March 2020.

About the event

The outbreak and rapid spread of coronavirus, which is now recognised a pandemic, has raised the fear of the unknown in the public. With multiple sources providing varied advice, information channels are filled with cluttered noise. What is required is clear, tangible, concise and practical measures to enable business preparedness in face of this public health emergency.

In this webinar, Ricardo’s senior crisis consultants, Gareth Black and Chris Lewis, will cut through the noise, and provide organisations with the tools to create a battle plan on how to prepare for this emergency.

The focus of the webinar will be on how organisations should tackle the potential consequences of its rapid spread and the effect on their workforce.

Their crisis management experts will discuss:

- Navigating the unknown: what is a pandemic, what risks might organisations face such as the impact over time, and what the near future might hold in regard to combatting the virus

- Exploring past outbreaks and how the UK government’s worst-case scenario plan can affect organisations

- Tangible tasks to ensure readiness, including business continuity planning. The webinar will look at how organisations can conduct a business impact assessment (BIA) and pull together a business continuity plan (BCP). The need for an overarching pandemic plan will also be discussed

- Trusted sources and information to be aware of, which may be a deciding factor in triggering an organisation's own pandemic plans

- Clear and practical actions, including templates and instructions so organisations can develop their own BCP and pandemic plans.

This will be followed by a live question and answer session. If you have any questions you would like answered during the webinar, please do enter them when registering.
