A Thank You From Charity Secret Santa

Published on: 20/02/2019

Courtney Hughes, founder of Charity Secret Santa has a special message for everyone on Milton Park who donated to 2018’s record breaking year. The Milton Park Innovation Centre was a drop off point for Courtney’s charity throughout December. Our reception team were taking in donations on a daily basis – so thank you to the Milton Park community for getting involved in this fabulous local charity.

Here is a message from Courtney: “Now all of the gift deliveries are complete, I wanted to take the time to again thank you for all of the support shown to myself and my charity "Charity Secret Santa 365"

2018 was a fantastic year for us, and saw us reach our first huge milestone of handing out our 50, 000th gift!”

Some more stats and highlights from 2018 include:

  • 3 full vans of donations through the year to our homeless friends in Oxford,
  • Had tea parties with our delightful elderly residents,
  • Hosted our first Christmas Party,
  • Launched Secret Santa hands of Friendship - offering a befriending service to elderly residents
  • Furnished 2 properties for women in refuges who received their forever homes after fleeing domestic violence

Personal highs for Courtney:

  • Being Runner Up as Fundraiser of the Year at The Pride of Britain Awards
  • Being a guest at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Wedding in May
  • Being Awarded the Young Achiever of the year award for Against Breast Cancer
  • Winner of the Outstanding Recognition Award at the Thames Valley Business Awards.
  • Being a guest speaker at the Oxfordshire NCS Graduation at Oxford Brookes
  • Becoming a Young Ambassador for Charity Community Projects

Courtney continues: “We have had a huge amount of young people working with us this year, including local NCS groups for their Social Action Projects, as an NCS Leader this was so very special and heartfelt that 16-year olds in our area took up "THE CHALLENGE" for the charity.”

Every single donation received was given to a wide range of local charities, families, and individuals who need a helping hand, or support during ill health or crisis.

2019 is already set out to be a busy one,

Thank you so much for your support, whether it be through donations, gifts, collections, deliveries, printing, advocating. I am so very grateful to everyone!!”

Congratulations to Courtney for her amazing year and we look forward to supporting you again in 2019.
