Fire brigade training on the Park

Published on: 08/05/2014

Milton Park and Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service have recently been working in partnership. Using old buildings on the park that are due for redevelopment, as training venues for local crews.

Crews from Didcot Fire Station have been using building 185 Park Drive for the past few weeks, to maintain their skills in search and rescue techniques. The building and the use of synthetic smoke machines help to create a realistic environment.

Watch Manager, Jon Walker from Didcot Fire Station said; “MEPC have been fantastic in allowing us to use this building for training. The opportunity has been utilised to its fullest. The training allows us to build on our skills and ensure we are always at peak operational readiness”.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue and Milton Park will continue working together, allowing more crews to develop their skills and continue to deliver a first rate service for the people of Oxfordshire.
