Happy World Architecture Day!

Published on: 05/10/2020

Did you know that World Architecture Day, which is celebrated annually on the first Monday in October, was set up to show appreciation for architects and to celebrate great architectural works across the globe?

This annual celebration was established in 2005 by the Union International des Architects (UIA).

Even in the times in which we find ourselves, at Milton Park, we continue to move forward and work towards our pioneering 2040 Vision which we launched in Summer 2019.

Our masterplan was produced with Perkins + Wills, masterplanners and architects, so a big shout out to them.

Images such as the ones from our 2040 Vision are exciting reminders of the sustainable growth we are planning including autonomous vehicles, connected spaces and vibrant street frontages.

We also work with SRA Architects, which has recently designed 95 and 141-143 Park Drive and Scott Brownrigg, which has historically designed many of the office and laboratory buildings and worked on Park masterplanning. ASA Landscape Architects, based at the Park and has worked with us for many years too.

They are a reminder that place and community aren't just about the buildings or indeed the many brilliant people who work here but also the architecture of the environment, the surroundings, the planting and design.

We are grateful to work with these architects and their teams and we wish everyone a Happy World Architecture Day!
