New street lights to be installed on Milton Road

Published on: 21/05/2018

We are letting you know about some forthcoming works at the Milton Park end of Milton Road (the Power station road that goes past the Daily Mail offices).

The Milton Park team have been campaigning for this road to have new lighting installed in order to make the cycleway safer.  New speed limits of 40mph will also shortly come into force along this road, making it much more comfortable for both cyclists and pedestrians.

Oxfordshire County Council Highways maintenance team will be starting work on 29th May for one week initially, installing new street lights on Milton Road. Please download this image for and indication of where the works are.

Traffic controls, including two way signals and barriers will have some impact on traffic and also on the bus stop at Sutton Courtenay Road roundabout, Abingdon, OX14 4TE. Buses towards Didcot or Wantage, Thames Travel services 32A, 32 and X2 and the Milton Park shuttle bus will be affected. Bus users getting on and off at these stops are advised to use the stops at the Eastern-most end of Park Drive during this time.

There will be some minor delays to traffic but OCC aim to keep these to a minimum and we will monitor the situation carefully.

If you have any questions on these works, please contact Veronica Reynolds on veronica.reynolds@miltonpark.com
