Sport Relief 5k fun run at Milton Park raises over £2,000

Published on: 27/03/2018

On Friday 23 March, people from the many businesses across Milton Park joined MEPC for a fun 5k run or walk around the Park in support of the nation’s efforts to raise money for Sport Relief.

With businesses coming together from all across the Park, MEPC is delighted to have collectively raised over £2,000 for the charity. Matching the £2,000 raised last year for Red Nose Day.

The route, which started on Park Drive outside the Innovation Centre, then continued round the entirety of the park before finishing at the start line.

A shout out must go to the winners of our friendly competitions:

Best Group Fancy Dress - CTS Group or should we say "Spice Girls"?

Best Individual Fancy Dress - Ninja Turtle aka Paul Belton

Fastest Man - Tomasz Dobrzycki

Fastest Woman - Rosalind Davies

Philip Campbell, Commercial Director at MEPC, said: “Were really glad to have brought Sport Relief back to Milton Park. This is a fantastic event and with the help of the organisers and everyone at Milton Park, we have raised a phenomenal amount of money for Sport Relief. We want to share a huge thank you to everyone who took part, from the organisers, to the participants who completed the route, and everyone who donated.

“With over 250 companies and some 9,000 employees at the park we were so grateful to see so many taking part. As a long-standing charity, Sport Relief carries out some exceptional work not only here in the UK but also across the world, and we are thrilled to be able to support them in this way.”

The money raised by the public through Sport Relief is used to tackle critical issues affecting people across the UK and the rest of the world.
