What's new: Didcot Garden Town projects

Published on: 04/05/2020

For anyone who receives Didcot Garden Town's regular newsletters, their latest one shows that they continue to be busy planning for Didcot's future.

The Didcot Garden Town principles are: open space, cycling and walking, community spaces, transport and roads.

Here is a round-up of what's new and projects on which you can have your say.

Further funding

Recently, the Government announced that Didcot Garden Town will receive an additional £100,000 to allow the team to continue to work on the delivery plan for its residents.

The funding was allocated by Government to help to support garden communities across the UK to deliver well-connected communities.

Sounding boards for your views

The team is working with the Didcot Garden Town Advisory Board and have set up Sounding Boards which will ask residents, businesses and parishes about their views on their projects.

Details of the Sounding Board events will be available once it is safe for these sessions to be run.

Science Vale Cycle Network Improvements

Lastly, the Science Vale Cycle Network Improvements project, also run by Oxfordshire County Council, has been supported by Didcot Garden Town which is looking at how cycling and walking networks can be improved throughout Oxfordshire.

The proposals will include better links between Wantage Road, Didcot town centre and Milton Park and will include access to Culham and Appleford.

You can find out more and have your say here by Sunday 17th May 2020.
