Women's Tour at Milton Park

Published on: 17/05/2019

Did You Know?! The OVO Women's Tour will be coming through Didcot on Wednesday 12 June, around 12.15 pm. The perfect opportunity for employees to cycle into Didcot or catch the Milton Park bus into town during lunch and be part of an international competitive cycling event!

Following on from this Oxfordshire will play host to the OVO Energy Women’s Tour for the next three years, starting with the county’s first-ever stage of Britain’s leading professional women’s stage race on day three of the 2019 event.

Stage three of the high-profile British Cycling and UCI Women’s World Tour event has been secured for Oxfordshire by the county council and five districts in a three-year partnership with the race organisers SweetSpot that will bring major economic and health benefits to the county.

The stage will start in Henley-on-Thames and end at one of the county’s most iconic locations, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Blenheim Palace.

To celebrate this fantastic news, a group of women and Milton Park’s travel advisor – Veronica Reynolds cycled around Milton Park and beyond at lunchtime on Thursday 16th May. They used the Milton Park hire bikes and loved every second! The group are now looking into joining up with more cycling initiatives across the Park, including the Monthly Bike 2 Work Breakfasts and Bike Users Group.
