Location: Office based at Milton Park , Abingdon, Oxfordshire.


The Job:

Biesterfeld Petroplas Ltd has experienced significant growth in recent years. We are looking for a hardworking, team player to support this.

Internal Sales

You will handle sales and service to customers in the UK and Ireland.

£20k to £25k (dependent on experience), pension, life, health cover, 25 days holiday and performance based bonus.

The opportunity
You will experience all key aspects of international trade, working for Europe’s largest plastic raw materials distributor.

As part of a team your focus will be developing and maintaining new customers. You will gain experience in many parts of the business such as sales, marketing, customer service, logistics, credit control, purchasing and data management.

We will give you training in our products, IT systems and procedures.

With offices in 42 countries and sales of over €600 million, Biesterfeld Plastic is a leading, pan-European distributor of thermoplastic resins. The €1 billion Biesterfeld Group, consists of Biesterfeld Plastic, Biesterfeld Speciality Chemicals and Biesterfeld International.

Essentially at Biesterfeld Petroplas, we are a supplier of globally sourced, raw materials to manufacturing industries such as packaging, medical and automotive. Most of our customers tend to place regular orders and we are a key part of their business. Our focus is long term strategic relationships. Our international supply partners include some of the world’s leading companies such as ExxonMobil, DuPont, LG Chem, Chevron Phillips and Borealis.

The Role and prospects
To meet our ambitious targets we need to fill a new position in internal sales.

Telephone sales and marketing activities to new and existing customers will be a key activity. You will have the chance to join the external sales team on customer visits to understand their needs and the technologies used in our industry. Success could ultimately lead to an external sales position with company car and enhanced salary/bonus package. After that, it depends how you and the company perform.

Over time, further knowledge and skills will be added and you will gain a detailed understanding of how an international business operates from supply chain to credit control.

About you
We are looking for a strong team player who is bright, enthusiastic and willing to learn. You will be flexible and commercially minded.

You will have good “A” levels and most likely a degree in business, economics, science or engineering. Our products are technical so some science in your background will give you a head start, but it’s not essential. But to build a career with us you will need an interest in how things are made and how they work.

If you are ready for a challenge and are prepared to work hard to create your own future now would be a great time to join us. As you help us develop our business in the UK and Ireland, opportunities for personal and career advancement will arise.

New graduates will be considered, so please do apply. But those with a few years work experience are preferred. Relevant experience would be office based commercial activities such as internal sales, marketing or order processing.
