Job Description

The key principle of this position is to receive (client/supplier), store and issue test materials (samples) and other materials in accordance with the organisational quality system.Communicating directly with external stakeholders for the test materials safe arrival your objective is to resolve test material discrepancies and to ensure Business tools (LIMs, ERP, etc) are compliant and that the data they hold reflects physical and hard copy documentation.

  • To support clients by arranging appropriate documentation when required (e.g. import permits)
  • To dispatch samples and materials to third parties, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements (including export permits where required).
  • To receive and book in samples and materials arriving from clients and suppliers.
  • To communicate professionally internally/externally for the safe arrival of materials and to resolve any discrepancies  in a timely manner to ensure minimum impact to Operations.
  • To ensure that samples and materials are stored appropriately at all times and to record any changes in the storage conditions via LIMS, Item Tracker, AX or hard documents.
  • To issue samples and materials via the MRN process to laboratory staff on request and to ensure that they are promptly returned to the correct locations after use.
  • To maintain the upkeep and accuracy in real time of the sites Business tools (LIMs,Item Tracker, AX).
  • Work with Archivists to notify the relevant Program Manager when designated expiry times are due and to ensure that any disposal of samples or materials is carried out strictly in accordance with SOPs.
  • To have an active role in maintaining SOPs/forms that fall within the scope of the job role and to look for solutions to streamline process.
  • If required, to manage the ordering of materials and reagents to support client projects
  • If required, to assist in the archiving of all Study data and non-Study data.
  • If required, to assist in the issue and recall of controlled/archived documentation
  • To assist in the production and dispatch of study plans and reports.
  • To ensure that all work is performed in compliance with Health and Safety policies and current legislation.

Qualifications

  • A degree is desirable but not essential.
  • Proven experience within the industry,
  • Ability to adapt to various software systems.
  • Strong organisation skills.
