Job Description

Position Overview:

Nexeon are seeking a highly skilled and motivated EHS Coordinator to join their team. This is primarily, but not solely, a proactive planning and coordination role, the purpose of which is to ensure that all activities connected with Environmental, Health and Safety protocols, Audits or assessments are carried out in order to ensure that Nexeon does not expose people and environment to any hazard generated by processes. This role is accomplished through compliance with:
o UK & International regulatory statutes
o ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
o International corporate standards and best practices

• Supporting the EHS Team in carrying out EHS-related activities, including, but not limited to;
o Proposing Environmental objectives
o Safety Meetings and Safety Committees
o Periodic review of compliance, Energy consumption and GHG, waste streams and F-gas registers
o the development and implementation of EHS policies and procedures
o assist with risk assessments
o help ensure compliance with UK health, safety, and environmental legislation
o contribute to staff training efforts
o promote continuous improvement in workplace safety and sustainability.

• Leading implementation and maintenance of ISO14001 and ISO45001 certification activities:
o Scheduling and coordinating internal and external audits
o Organising meetings between assessors and stakeholders
o Ensure all required information is current and available before the audit and before periodic Business Management Reviews
o Inspect Company’s premises and process to check conditions of workplaces and address unsafe conditions or unsafe behaviours, if any, to stakeholders
o Agree action plans with the notified body and stakeholders

• Lead the implementation of EHS-related action plans, generated from external or internal risk assessments and safety studies. Analysis and prioritisation of action items. Ensure their progress to closure by collaboration with stakeholders.
• Follow-up and close-out activities connected with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification with colleagues from other locations
• Periodic report on the status of Environmental and Health and Safety management system
• Ensure that Nexeon’s confidential information and intellectual property is protected at all times

Essential
• Relevant Degree or Occupational Safety & Health qualification with related experience in UK manufacturing industry
• NEBOSH National General Certificate or willing to work towards
• Experience in working in ISO 14001 certified systems
• Experience in working in ISO 45001 certified systems
• Leadership skill set, proactivity and accountability
• Capability in implement action plans and effective communication with stakeholders
• Capability to write Environmental Policies
• Ability to coordinate people to achieve results
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Microsoft Office (good working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and Word)

Desirable
• Ability to read and understand advanced risk assessment methodologies (e.g. LOPA, SIL Allocation, SIL Verification), other than statutory risk assessments such as Fire Risk Assessment, Legionella Assessment.
• Either or multiple of the following NEBOSH certificates: International General Certificate or Diploma, Environmental Management, H&S at Work, Managing Risks and Risk Assessment
• Experience in management of ISO 14001 certified systems
• Experience in management of ISO 45001 certified systems
• Experience in working in Behaviour Based Safety systems
• Demonstrated ability and experience to interface with third party solution providers or technology providers

Other:
• Driving licence and ability/availability to travel
