Thank you to everyone who took part in World Car Free Day on Monday 22 September. It was brilliant to see so many people exploring greener ways to travel, from walking and cycling to buses and more – with everyone who took part enjoying a free breakfast at Bee House.
A huge well done to our Car Free Day prize winners!
🏆 Longest walk: Laura Bonaventura (Evotec) walked all the way from Kennington – a three-hour journey on foot
🏆 Longest cycle: John Burnett (Vertex Pharmaceuticals) cycled from Bracknell, just topping Alex Watson (Evotec) who cycled from Reading
🏆 Company prize: Evotec and Wild Bioscience, recognised for having the most employees take part. They’ll receive food vouchers, plus a donation made in their name to the Didcot Powerhouse Fund.
It was fantastic to see so many people embracing greener ways of getting to work, with Evotec in particular showing strong support for active travel, with many of the team regularly cycling from Oxford.
