Six ways of keeping cool at Milton Park this summer
With temperatures rising, Milton Park has plenty of ways to help you stay cool, comfortable and productive throughout the working day.
Whether you’re looking for a refreshing break, a cooler place to work or simply somewhere to enjoy your lunch outdoors, here are a few ways to make the most of the Park during the heatwave.
🍦 Cool down at Signal Yard
Treat yourself to a scoop (or two) of delicious Yarde Farm vegan ice cream from Planted Plates, alongside refreshing iced coffees, cold drinks and freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches. It’s the perfect excuse to take a well-earned break and cool off.
❄️ Escape the heat indoors
All of Signal Yard’s amenities are air-conditioned, making them a great place to pick up your iced coffee, essentials from the Post Office or simply enjoy a few minutes out of the sun.
Need a change of scenery? The Bee House also offers coworking Honeycomb Day Passes, giving you access to comfortable, air-conditioned workspace whenever you need it, plus The Hive café is also serving delicious ice creams.
🏊 Take the plunge
If you’re fitting exercise into your day, The Park Club offers a 20-metre indoor swimming pool that’s perfect for cooling off before work, during your lunch break or after the working day, alongside its fully air-conditioned gym and wellbeing facilities.
🌳 Find a shady spot
Milton Park’s extensive landscaping, mature trees and green spaces provide plenty of natural shade for lunch breaks, informal meetings or a quiet moment away from your desk. Our tree-lined avenues and green infrastructure not only make the Park a pleasant place to work but also help keep outdoor areas cooler during warmer weather.
🚶 Stretch your legs
Need a break from your desk? Milton Park’s network of landscaped walking routes, tree-lined avenues and green spaces offer plenty of opportunities to enjoy some fresh air throughout the day. During warmer weather, stick to the shaded paths, avoid the hottest part of the day where possible and remember to take a bottle of water with you.
💧 Stay hydrated
Keep a reusable water bottle topped up throughout the day, take regular breaks and seek out shaded areas or air-conditioned spaces when temperatures are at their highest. If you need to stock up, bottled water and other cold drinks are available from The Hive Café at the Bee House and Pierreponts Café at the Innovation Centre. If you’re heading out for a lunchtime stroll around the Park, stick to the shaded walking routes where possible and remember to stay hydrated.
However you’re choosing to work this summer, Milton Park has everything you need to stay cool while enjoying everything the Park has to offer.
