Working together for greater impact
The Milton Park Greener Workplace Forum, made up of occupiers whose job roles include responsibility for environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters, met most recently in September.
The group aims to share best practice and raise awareness of existing green initiatives around energy use, recycling and transport. Working collaboratively wherever possible also helps to fulfil each other’s ESG objectives. This is especially important for smaller companies, who can achieve much more through partnership than by working alone.
Key topics from the latest meeting
Energy reporting
One topic of the meeting was a discussion around expanding the technology for reporting energy usage across the Park. This will help Milton Park build a complete picture of usage and identify where savings could be achieved.
Polystyrene compactor
A reminder: the polystyrene compactor is available for use by any occupier. Since this waste stream currently goes to landfill in Oxfordshire, using the compactor is a vital step in managing waste more sustainably.
To recycle polystyrene waste, occupiers can ‘post’ it through the flap on the compactor, located at ///skim.physical.sponsors, off Innovation Drive/Olympic Avenue.

Transport updates
The X32 bus now runs every 20 minutes, providing a fast and frequent service to Oxford and Milton Park continues to contribute to the development of the local cycle network.

Wayfinding
The group provided valuable feedback on the new Milton Park wayfinding strategy and also heard an update about plans at Signal Yard, the upcoming amenity scheme.
