Signal Yard update – Installation of timber framed extension and construction about to commence on brilliant new boardwalk
This month, the timber framed extension to Building 6 is being installed, alongside construction work starting on a pontoon on the nearest lagoon to Signal Yard. Parts of the hoarding has been taken down to enable works on the pedestrian routes into the development.
Once complete, Signal Yard will comprise of 17 spaces offering a vibrant mix of food & beverage, retail and leisure venues situated within a beautiful landscaped setting with outdoor event space.
A taste of what’s to come…
If you missed last month’s update, 13 of the 17 units are now under offer, including four food operators, dentist, barber, health & wellbeing provider and a pop-up space primarily serving food and beverage. In addition, the Apollo Pharmacy and the Post Office, both currently at 11 Park House, will relocate to Signal Yard.
Last month, we mentioned plans to relocate the Security team and we are currently having exciting discussions with them about potential rebranding and we look forward to announcing at a later stage.
If you are interested in taking amenity space at the remaining four units, please contact Tom Vecchione at Benedicts, who is managing retail enquiries: tom@benedicts.co.uk.
Timber framed extension
Taking shape is the double height glulam timber extension to Building 6, which will face Park Drive and the outdoor event space. Over the next few weeks, the high-level windows will be installed following the installation of the timber glulam extension.
The construction team will also be busy installing the timber shopfronts and cladding works. The buildings will feature a new series of timber shopfronts, painted in a unifying khaki green colour scheme, which gives a nod to Milton Park’s wartime heritage as an RAF Depot.
Brilliant boardwalk
Walking along Park Drive away from Signal Yard towards the direction of the Innovation Centre, a new ‘boardwalk’ is being created at the eastern end of the lagoon. Installation of the pontoon will start soon and we are excited to see how this will bring an area of calm and tranquillity.
The boardwalk will be made from carbon-neutral bamboo decking will provide a peaceful, reflective route along the existing lagoon, featuring seating areas for quiet moments by the water.
